Cremation Diamond from Your Lost Loved Ones' Ashes Or Hair

We will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. But memories are like diamonds, they keep forever. Remembering our loved ones after they have left us is one of the most important things about cremation diamonds. Made out of cremated ashes, cremation diamonds are lab-grown diamonds and are also known as memorial diamonds.

Creating cremation diamonds from ashes is a tribute to someone who has passed away. This special keepsake honors loved ones and friends you’ll want to always remember.

The passing of a family member, the departure of a loved one, or the farewell of a friend can be commemorated and remembered forever with a cremation diamond.

Everything in the world is made up of carbon — including the human body. To make a cremation diamond, the carbon will be extracted from the ashes to grow a one-of-a-kind diamond. Made from carbon extracted from the ashes of our loved ones, the cremation diamond holds priceless memories of our loved ones and maintains our connection with them.

Both lab-grown diamonds and mined diamonds have the same chemical, optical, and physical properties. Natural diamonds are created under the earth's crust over millions of years, then they are mined, cut, and polished. Lab-grown diamonds are made under conditions (pressure and temperature) similar to nature in a controlled laboratory environment where the diamond growing time is reduced to only a few months. They are also real diamonds.

All living creatures contain carbon. That's how the magic happens. Extracted carbon from ashes further carries irreplaceable memories and emotional bond between you and your loved one, which can be passed from generation to generation.

Cost-Effective and Eco-Friendly

Lab-grown diamonds are more sustainable and environmental-friendly than natural diamonds.

In the case of lab-created diamonds, the process that takes billions of years and requires immense natural pressure is mimicked in labs in a matter of weeks. They are now recommended to eco-conscious and price-sensitive consumers as a mined diamond alternative.

How to Create a Customized Cremation Diamond

Submit ashes or hair to EverDear™️'s lab office

How to Submit Cremation Ashes to Our Laboratory

In general, to make a cremation diamond up to 0.30 carats, the amount of ashes needed is a volume of ⅓ cup, which equals 5⅓ tbsp or about 2 ounces (50 grams). After your order is confirmed, please ensure that the ashes are packed and tightly sealed in a suitable container (e.g., a zip-lock bag or Tupperware) and sent to the address provided by us. Once our lab receives the ashes, our experts will start the purification process.

Ever Dear™️ lab staff is extracting carbon from ashes to higher purity

Extracting Carbon from Ashes

Turning ashes into diamonds is a process where diamonds are made of carbon extracted from cremated ashes. Approximately 18.5% of the carbon element is burned during the cremation process, and only 0.5-4% of the calcium carbonate remains in the bones. The binding strength of calcium carbonate is often more important than the carbon found in muscle tissue. Bone also acts as insulation, protecting the carbon in the bone marrow and other tissues.

In the EverDear laboratory, cremated ashes must reach a very high purity level according to jewelry standards. Different treatments of cremation diamonds result in different colors. All the ashes of EverDear received are heated in a vacuum and purified through various refining processes to generate the colors required.

Due to the presence of nitrogen in the ashes, the cremation diamonds naturally appear yellow. After nitrogen purification, the cremated diamond appears blue since they contain boron. The completely purified ashes will produce colorless diamonds and emit a pure aura. The carbon content of each person's ashes is different, so everyone's diamond is unique.

Ashes will grow into raw diamonds at first

Ashes Grow into Raw Diamond

High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) process is one of the cutting-edge methods for making diamonds from ashes. Natural diamonds are formed when carbon is exposed to extremely high pressure and high temperature under Earth's crust. HPHT devices are used to simulate this natural environment.

In this environment, the carbon in the ashes is pressed and turned into beautiful lab-grown cremation diamonds. The interior of the HPHT device is heated to over 2000°F to melt the catalyst metal. The molten catalyst metal dissolves a high-purity personal carbon source, which is then transported into a tiny diamond seed and crystallized. The diamond seed begins to grow like a shining star and eventually becomes a genuine raw diamond.

Cremation Diamond

The technology of turning cremated ashes into diamonds forms a raw, uncut diamond that does not directly exhibit its natural beauty and brilliance. Our experts will use the most advanced tools and craftsmanship to polish and cut the cremation diamond to reveal its true luster and ensure maximum weights, high clarity, and optimal proportions for different diamond shapes.

The unique cut and color of your cremation diamond only tell a snippet of your deceased loved one's story. The girdle, or edge of the memorial diamond, can be engraved with a name or a loving message for the departed loved one as an everlasting tribute. EverDear's cremation diamonds color choices are yellow, blue, and colorless, and our ashes into diamond sizes range from 0.1 carats to 2.29 carats. A brilliant cut is always highly recommended as it maximizes the brilliance and beauty of the diamond. However, if you desire a different cut excluded from our current options, we gladly accept customization.

Better Than a Cremation Diamond

Cremation Diamonds VS. Other Ways to Handle Cremated Ashes

The comparison of cremation diamonds and interment of ashes

Cremation Diamonds VS.

Interment of Ashes

After cremation, interment is one of the most common ways people deal with ashes. You can bury ashes in a cemetery just like you would bury a body in a casket, or place them in a columbarium designed to hold ashes. If you want to keep your loved one's ashes close by, you can also bury them in your garden. But it's important to keep in mind that if you decide to sell that property later, you'll have to face two options. Either dig up the ashes or disclose the presence of human remains to the person who buys your property even though the new owner may not let you visit the burial spot in the future.

In comparison, turning your loved one's ashes into a cremation diamond is a much more favorable option for honoring and celebrating your loved one's life. Every cremation diamond is a symbol of the uniqueness of the deceased. It can be set into memorial jewelry, a beautiful way to feel close to a loved one again and preserve your precious memories eternally.

The comparison of cremation diamonds and scattering ashes

Cremation Diamonds VS.

Scattering Ashes

Nowadays, many people choose to scatter the ashes of a loved one in a place of significance after the cremation. Grieving families can choose to scatter the ashes in a mountain, river, ocean, or other places of meaning. Choosing a proper location to scatter the ashes can be challenging. Moreover, the scattering of ashes can cause complications, as in most states, it is only allowed to do so with the permission of the landowner or the governing agency. When it comes to scattering ashes over water, Federal laws place numerous restrictions concerning the distance of scattering, the container of the ashes, and the legitimacy of the action.

When you scatter your loved one's cremated remains, there is also a lack of permanent memorial on top of the many restrictions. There's no monument to the person, which might be difficult for you to hold the sentimental connection to commemorate and honor the passed-away. However, by turning the ashes into a cremation diamond, you can keep an eternal bond with your loved ones wherever you are. A cremation diamond is a unique and lasting memento that keeps a loved one's ashes close by and constantly reminds you of their beautiful presence.

The comparison of cremation diamonds and keeping ashes in the urn

Cremation Diamonds VS.

Keeping Ashes in the Urn

For the bereaved, keeping ashes in an urn at home can be a way to hold on to the feeling of connection with the deceased after they’ve gone. Companies make decorative urns for people to keep their loved one’s ashes at home. Urns often look like large rounded vases with lids to keep the ashes safe and sealed. Even though the urns can come in various shapes, sizes, and styles to suit the interior decoration, for some people, seeing a cremation urn every day at home can cause undue stress and prolonged grief. In those cases, an ornate urn containing the cremains could bring more pain than comfort.

Instead, choosing to turn ashes into cremation diamonds allows the families to feel connected and close to the person who passed away and enables them to carry a part of the loved one wherever they go. Love and light are incorporated in the cremation ashes to create a piece of customized memorial diamond jewelry. These art pieces are unique, personalized, and can be engraved with meaningful information that reminds you of the warm moments spent with the person.
